Compounds
Polishing compounds are microabbrasives that remove oxidation and defects in paint.
Microswirls up to heavier scratches as long as not through layers of paint alot can be removed or masked very well.
Compound grades Coarse, Medium, Fine
Compounds come in different grades of finish and aren’t used the same. Heavily oxidized paints require a medium or heavy cut while others may only require fine or ultra fine finish. Corrections are always done in steps heavy or coarse to fine. Not all paints require all the steps or in the same order and are situation dependant. While compounds work alot a magic they aren’t a fix all. If paint is severely faded and peeling a repaint by a professional maybe in order.
Polishers
and pads
Polishers and pads can be used in different
cobinations just like compounds. These are the tools that do most of the work used along compounds. Different combos produce different results and can be mixed and matched based on the job.
